Because we have developed new materials EB material (super-hard rubber) which has resistance to rail-creepage equal to stainless steel, we have succeeded to mold EB material and rail pad material which build spring constant by vulcanizing integral molding.
This rail pad with EB material has no peel, and has a more excellent characteristics in electrical insulation resistance because stainless steel are not used.
The results of a variety of durability test and the results of practical use of "steel straight improved type (type 5)" from 2005, it has been approved to use the rail pad with EB material as an alternative to the rail pad with steel plate by Railway Technical Research Institute.
Then, it has been approved to use for the Shinkansen, and it has been also adopted in Hokkaido, Tohoku, Joetsu, Hokuriku, Sanyo, Kyushu Shinkansen.
